SciArt is an emerging discipline that aims to visualize scientific concepts in new and creative ways. This isn’t always easy, but the result is often beautiful, and is one step closer to breaking down the barriers that stand between science and the world we live in. This page aims to showcase some of the creativity of our brilliant team members and collaborators.

Eav Brennan - Science Communicator and Artist

I’m Eav, a science communicator based in Sydney, Australia. I have been interested in SciArt since I drew the migration pathways of Manta rays when I was seven. I grew up loving the ocean and the natural world, so I pursued environmental science and geography at University.

I now work at Reverse Garbage, a world-renowned creative reuse centre. I am a host on the Climactic Collective podcast network, and I am a research assistant evaluating the uptake of scientific advice in oceans governance. I love that I get to blend art and science in my work, and am looking forward to telling the story of the amazing science being conducted in so many different ways around the world.

Melissa Pappas - Marine Scientist, Science Communicator, Artist

A career marine scientist, PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales, and founder of Emerging Creatives of Science, Melissa’s passion for telling the story of her research drives her art pieces and her love to collaborate with other SciArt communicators.
